Farmland Not Freeways

Wednesday's FARMS not FREEWAYS action is having a huge impact! We got great coverage in the local media, were featured on CBC Radio news throughout the day, and even got on BC Almanac, one of the province's biggest radio shows! Best of all, the sign is now up for all to see, on Highway 17 in Delta:

Loranda Farms Sign - Farms Not Freeways

Watch the video and share it with your friends:

Independent MLA Vicki Huntingdon wrote to say that she supports the unveiling of this great billboard. Richmond City Councillor and Agricultural Land Reserve co-founder Harold Steves told the 40+ in attendance that the farmland under imminent threat from the Gateway freeway and port expansion could feed at least 100,000 people. The impacts of sprawl and industrialization triggered by Gateway could be much worse, IF we let it happen.

It's not too late to stop this insanity and create a green and just future for our region. Stay tuned for an important announcement about EARTH ACTION WEEK coming this April 18-25!
